Girona, in Catalonia (Spain), preserves more than two thousand years of history, from the ancient Roman Gerunda to the Visigothic, Muslim, and medieval periods. Its historic quarter is notable for the Jewish Quarter (Call Jueu) and for its Roman and medieval walls, still preserved today.
