Beneath the city lies Underground Naples, a hidden world where the ancient Greeks carved vast cisterns to store water, later reused as air-raid shelters during the Second World War.

The series also includes a visit to Herculaneum, an archaeological revelation. Smaller than Pompeii, yet far more intimate and remarkably well preserved, its houses still retain vivid frescoes, wooden elements, mosaics, and traces of everyday life, as if time itself had been suspended beneath the ash.
